In order to stay in Belarus you will need a visa. Your visa can  be given easily though the whole process takes time and much effort. You need a tourist voucher, special invitation letter issued by tourist company in Belarus and, of course, your passport, photo, insurance (not obligatory) and hotel booked. You should fill in the application form and that is it, you will get your visa by post or by submitting in person and the whole process itself takes about a week.
I did my documents with a company that specializes in visa support, apartment rent. Initially I wanted to have an independent review, but as long as I was asked by my friends to give the name :) here it is - order Belarus visa support here
I must say that they deserve this advertisement, but you are free to decide yourself.

Hotels in Belarus are really expensive. For example, a decent 4* hotel will cost you about 200 USD which is a waste of money. Usually it is worth to spend some time and find an apartment as you can get the same quality for lower price like 80-100 USD. What I did - stayed in hotel for the first 2 nights and then went to the 2-room apartment that was more or less like a president suite.
